Women Empowerment
Hello guys? How is everyone
doing? Wish you all a very Happy Navratri and a very Happy Dussera too!!
Actually I was in a jinx as to
what should I write in my next post and a friend of mine suggested that I
should write something on “Women Empowerment” and I thought what could be
better than the occasion of Navratri to pen down my thoughts!
Navratri a festival which marks
the strength which each and every lady within her! A festival which potrays
that how powerful a lady is and how dangerous she can be when it comes to
protecting herself and her family!
“Women Empowerment”- the name
when read or heard seems very impactful but according to me it has started
getting its proper recognition down the line 5-7 years only. 20-30 years ago
women were considered inferior to men in each and every field. Many of our
mothers were not allowed to study further post 12th standard because
a learned lady was considered a taboo in that period, being financially
independent was far from approach!! Back in those days the only work of women
was to take care of their families. Slowly the world progressed and we saw
transition in the thinking of people. Our generation is lucky enough that we
got a chance to get a very nice education, motivated for pursuing professional
studies and become self-reliant.
There was a time when people were
not willing to appoint a female in the organization with a pre-conceived notion
that they are incompetent and even if they were appointed, they weren’t paid or
treated well.
Today the world has witnessed a
paradigm shift in the thinking process. Women are now equally or should I say
more competent than men. In each and every sphere of life right from school
education, to clearing competitive exams girls have given a tough competition
to boys. Whether it is the field of sports, arts, entertainment, politics or
aeronautics or businesses, women have made their mark! Sania Mirza, Saina
Nehwal, Priyanka Chopra, Hillary Clinton, Sunita Williams, Indra Nooyi the list
seems endless, but they have achieved such milestones in life that everyone
idolizes them and aspires to follow their footprints. It is due to the contribution
of these great women that the world realized the power of Women and bowed their
heads in front of Women Empowerment!!! Women have earned their empowerment and
the world is now in awe of it!!!
Women Empowerment is not just
being equal to men in all spheres of life, it also means empowering ourselves
with our strength. Each one of us has that innate power to identify between
right and wrong, good and evil; the need is to invoke these traits and to use
them for the betterment of humankind.
We should fight against the wrong
happening around us, stand with the people who need our support. That would be
Women Empowerment in true sense!!! If we get an excellent lifestyle to live but
we do not help others to have a sustainable lifestyle; then we are not
respecting the opportunities that we have been blessed with. We need to be
always ready to take steps to make world a better place to live in.
A woman according to me has
always been the cause of revolution in world! From Draupadi, Rani Laxmi Bai,
Queen Elizabeth, and Helen Keller each one of them brought a revolution in the
era they belonged too. We now need to replicate these steps in the era we live
in. We see lot of unjust thing happening around us especially on woman. When a
woman is beaten, insulted or abused most of us just keep quiet trying not to be
involved in others matter. Why??? Because we feel that by doing us we might end
up in trouble or our name might catch up negative publicity. This is very stoop
thinking because if one human being will not support another, how would this
world be a good place to live in!! Remember what happens with others can happen
with us too and then we might feel the pain that others underwent through.
If Draupadi would have kept mum then Mahabharata would never have taken
place and this world would not have got rid of evil. She raised her voice and
brought a revolution which liberated humankind of all evils and led to the
beginning of new era.
We celebrate Navratri to pay homage to Goddess Durga! Goddess Durga was
such a strong lady who didn’t think twice to kill demon Mahisasur in order to
get earth freed from pains inflicted by him.
We all now have to make a part of
Goddess Durga and Iron Lady Draupadi enlightened within us so as to fight all
evils. That would give a true empowerment to us and we would feel more proud
that we rendered our role as a responsible member of this society.
These are my views on women
empowerment. I would appreciate that you too share your views on the same!!!
Till then take care and spread
happiness!!!!!
Loads of love
